Papi Chulo - European Premiere

On the 12th of October I went to the European premiere of Papi Chulo at the London Film Festival. Starring in the movie is Matt Bomer and Alejandro Patiño. The movie is directed by John Butler. 

Since I never had been to a movie premiere, I didn't know what to expect. I knew it wasn't big premiere where you have to "dress up" but I had still decided to wear some nice clothes. And I was quite excited to see the movie. And before I knew it, it was almost time.

The group I was with and I came about 6 pm. So we had about 30 minutes before the movie started.

When we arrived Alejandro Patiño had already arrived and was talking to fans. Some was getting pictures with him too. It looked like, he loved the reaction from the people outside the cinema.

After a while Matt Bomer showed up and almost every Matt Bomer fan who was there ran over to him. There was a big circle of fans around him. To a certain extend I think the security had underestimated how many Matt Bomer fans who would be there since there were a lot of fans. Because he was the main reason many of them were there. He was actually one the reasons I was there too but the movie sounded it could be a good movie. So I wanted to support him and the movie.

Then we walked inside and was there before we went into the cinema. When the clock was about 6.30 pm a guy introduced the director John Butler who said few words before the movie started. 

Even though it wouldn't be a movie I normally would have chosen, I'm glad I did see it. I loved the movie. I absolutely loved both Matt Bomer's and Alejandro Patiño's performances in the movie. A couple of times the movie hit very close to home. And I could feel I was getting a bit emotionel. I did laugh a few times, since there are few funny scenes in the movie too. John Butler did a great job directing the movie. I can easily recommend the movie to everyone who wants to see it.

After the movie was over there was a Q&A with John Butler, Matt Bomer & Alejandro Patiño. The Q&A lasted for about 20 minutes. After that we went outside to see Matt Bomer getting flooded with people again. 

We got a group picture with some fellow Matt Bomer/White Collar fans before we went out to have a late dinner.
