My fascination with tv/movie award shows

I have always had a fascination with tv/movie awards shows. Especially The Academy Awards (the Oscars). I have always liked watching tv shows and movies. And think that's one of the reasons why I like these awards shows. I also love the whole glamour surrounding the awards shows which means what dresses the women are wearing and how they are styled. And also what outfits the men are wearing. That's why I also like watching the red carpet before the award shows. So I can see all the beautiful dresses/outfits.

The Oscars are broadcast worldwide live on the night so it has been a tradition for me for many years to watch it. Since I live in Denmark I have to stay up through the night because of the 9 hour time difference between Denmark and LA. If I haven't been able to watch it, I have recorded so I could watch it the day after. when I have done this I have tried not to read/hear/watch the news so I wouldn't be spoiled before watching it. And I have always been lucky not to be spoiled. 

The last few years I have watched the Oscars with a few friends of mine. A few years we have watched it in our local cinema when they have shown it. The last couple of years they haven't shown it, so we have seen it at a friends place instead which is just as a nice experience. And of course, I will be watching it next week (March 4th).

When I was in Los Angeles back in 2011 I went on a guided tour of The Kodak Theatre (now The Dolby Theatre) where the Oscars are held. An interesting experience to see the theatre where it all happens. I saw a real Oscar which Kodak had won. The guide tells many stories of the different Oscars through the years. You couldn't take pictures inside the theatre, but it still was cool to be inside the theatre, where many of the stars you have seen in movies have been.
I would recommend everyone who is fascinated by the Oscars to go on the guided tour if you visit Los Angeles/Hollywood since you will find out a lot you didn't know about the Oscars. And it's an experience in itself to walk around the areas you don't see on tv when the Oscars are aired.

Not all tv/movie awards are aired on Danish tv. But I do get to see both the Golden Globes and the Emmy awards on Danish tv even though they are aired some time after they have been aired in the States. Those I can't watch on tv I will see if I can find a live blog or a live stream so I can read/watch it. Or I will go on Social Media to find some information. If none of these choices are available I will just wait to when something pops up on the news whether it Danish or International news.
