Since we almost
are in 2015 it's time to look back on 2014. And 2014 has been a good year for
me.
I have been to some concerts this year. 6 concerts was it in total. The concert year began in March with Michael Hardinger Band. The band plays more or less pure Shu-Bi-Dua numbers. Michael Hardinger is a former member of Shu-Bi-Dua and two other members of the band are also from Shu-Bi-Dua (Jørgen Thorup and Kim Daugaard) I saw them 2 more times later this year. In June and in August. In June they Tivoli Friheden, where they played on Midsummer night (Sankt Hans Aften) . So for the first time I heard Midsommersangen live.
The month of May was the "big" concert month for me. I was at 3 concerts in May. It started with New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) in Copenhagen. A concert I had looked forward to for a long time and it was great experience to see them before, during and after the concert. Karina and I went on a trip to Copenhagen to see them and had a nice couple of days. Hope I get to see them in concert sometime in the near future.
2 days after the NKOTB concert Karina and I went to a concert with Robbie Williams in Herning about 10 months after we saw him in Copenhagen in 2013. A beautiful swing concert with the equally beautiful Robbie Williams. In my eyes he is and will always be a great entertainer. I enjoy his concerts also this particular swing concert.
In late May Karina, Ulrik, Simon and I went to Bryan Adams concert in Aalborg. Up there we met with Line, another Bryan Adams fan Karina and I know. It was one of his Bare Bones concerts we went to. Many believe that if you go to one of his concerts, it must be a rock concert. Many are not aware that his acoustic concerts are just as good as his rock concerts. It is something else when you are at these concerts, but you can easily sit and rock out with even if you are sitting down.

Work wise,
there have also been some changes. Since the summer of 2012, I have had two
places of work. This was changed in January, after changes in my work
assignments. I was awarded an exciting area as Secretary of Audiological Local
Clinic. I had to work for the clinic 2 hours daily. I am still paid by the
municipality. For this could be solved in the best way, it was determined that
in the future I should only have one workplace. So in January I said goodbye to
my colleagues that I had worked with since 2007. And then moved to the place
that was my second workplace since 2012. It is now almost a year ago. I still
miss my colleagues, I have said goodbye to, but I feel good among my
"new" colleagues.
In August my work got a department manager. There have been a period in which our boss physically have sit somewhere else than us, so it has been hard not to have a boss around every day, so it was decided that we should have a department manager. He is known in the municipality, so some of us knew him already which was a good thing. So far he is doing a good job.
On September 29, I started to study full-time. I got leave from the municipality and started a skills project, which the municipality pulled those who had signed up, out of work for 6 months. And they employed a rotation temp for the period. This allowed the students not to think about work while they were studying. I’m studying the first 3 subjects in Kommunomen (periodic training of HK / administrative employees in the municipal. Now I am three months into the course and have passed my first subject and I’m well underway with the second subject. The exam for the second subject is in mid-January.
I have also been a trip across the pond this year. In October Karina, Ulrik and I was on vacation in the United States. We were about 1½ days in Las Vegas and about 13 days in Los Angeles. Las Vegas is kind of a fun city. A little funny seeing the town you have heard so much about. But it's probably not the last time I will take a trip to Las Vegas. It was the second time I was in Los Angeles. It's kind of funny that even though I saw some of the same things again, I had the same gut feeling as the first time I saw them. The gut feeling you get when you see something exciting and something beautiful. I just think there's something about me and LA. ;-)
Christmas was celebrated together with my parents. I was the Christmas service together with Karina, Lars and my mom. It's kind of been Karina, Lars and my little tradition to go to Christmas service. So we can say Merry Christmas and then go home to our families and celebrate Christmas.
I’m going to ring in the New Year with Karina, Ulrik, Lars, Jan and Simon. Just like usual. It’s usual pretty cozy when we are together.
Now I have looked back on the year that has gone by. If I look towards 2015, I still have my education, I have to complete. I finish in March.
There will probably also be time to go to concerts next year. Bryan Adams has at least 3 concerts in Denmark next year so far. So maybe I will go to one of them.
I don’t know yet if there will be some vacationing next year. But if I can afford it, then maybe there will be a trip across the pond next year too.
